Keys to the Kingdom

Exhibit designed for and installed at the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park - Seattle Unit that focused on sea stars, sea star wasting disease and life in tidal pools.


The exhibit featured work that National Park Service scientists are doing to monitor sea star populations and understand what the causes of sea star wasting disease are.

Keys to the Kingdom intro

The panels were designed to educate visitors about healthy sea stars as well as those affected by the disease.


Visually, the main focus was on vibrant photos of sea stars and tidal pools throughout the exhibit.

In addition, the exhibit highlighted local areas of concern for sea star populations and used artifacts to demonstrate how scientists were monitoring those populations.
