#100daysproject

My self-set cookbook project is really confirming for me just how much I like having constraints for my work. Start dates, end dates, restrictions on processes all make me so much happier.

I’ve always been intrigued by the 100 Days Project that I’ve seen on social media - I like the sense of community even though everyone is working on different projects. I have some friends who have participated in it and have made really amazing works! I’ve never done it myself before, but this feels like the year to change that.

I couldn’t quite settle on one single medium, so I’m going to do watercolor and/or gouache paintings every day for 100 days, starting on the 31st.

I did want to do a test run before the project started, just to make sure I could actually do one work a day. Luckily, I also started playing a game yesterday that I am finding so beautiful and so inspiring! Burly Men at Sea is a charming, minimalist game that I really enjoy playing. And I cannot get the sweet little boat the Burly Men sail around in out of my head!

My main goal of the #100daysproject might need to be finishing early enough that I can photograph the pieces while there’s still enough light in the day!
