Pigment party

I’ve been making pigments from exhausted natural dyebaths for a while now (and sometimes even taking notes on what dyes the pigments are made from!). I really love the process and have developed quite the library of little pots of color.

They’re really fun to paint with, so I’m currently doing tests to see how well the pigments actually hold up long term in paintings. Some are more prone to drying out and cracking than others, but that seems like the only issue so far.
