Dahlia Studies
My first year growing my own dahlias has left me mesmerized by the blooms as they open. Each of these paintings is a study of a single flower. First, I painted the wonderful sherbet-y colors with watercolor, then went over them with pen or pencil for details and depth.
Each piece is 4” x 4”. Mixed media on archival paper.
